How to Fix Your Instagram Feed on Your Squarespace Website

One of the most common queries I receive from customers is how to resolve the Instagram feed issue on their Squarespace websites. This problem seems to occur every six to twelve months, and I've experienced it on my own site too.

Here's a step-by-step guide to resolving this issue:

1. Log into the backend of your Squarespace website.

  • Start by logging into your Squarespace website, so you can see the menu on the left-hand side.

2. Access the "Connected Accounts" settings:

  • Press the forward slash key (/) on your keyboard to open the search box.

  • Type "connected" and select "Connected Accounts" from the dropdown menu.

3. Disconnect the problematic Instagram account:

  • If there's an issue, you'll see a red warning stating, “Account is disconnected. Please reauthenticate to reconnect.”

  • Click on the warning message, then select "Disconnect" and confirm your choice.

4. Reconnect your Instagram account:

  • Click on "Connect Account."

  • Choose Instagram from the options.

  • If you're already logged into Instagram in your browser, simply click "Allow." Otherwise, enter your Instagram login details in the pop-up window.

5. Save your changes:

  • Click "Save."

6. Verify the connection:

  • Go to the page where your Instagram block is located.

  • In Edit mode, double-click the Instagram block to open the settings.

  • Select your Instagram account from the dropdown list and click "Save" in the top-left corner.

Your Instagram block should update instantly, though it may take a few minutes to sync. If the issue recurs in the future, simply follow these steps again to restore the connection.
