Creating a QR Code for a Page on Your Squarespace Website

How to create QR codes for Squarespace page

Hello, everyone! I’m back with another blog post sharing with you the latest tips, tricks, workarounds, and new features in Squarespace.

Squarespace just sneakily dropped a feature that I’ve not seen any announcements about, and I just happened to stumble across it. You can now create a QR code for any page within Squarespace in just a couple of clicks. In this post, I’m going to show you how to generate this for your Squarespace website.

What is a QR Code?

A QR code, or Quick Response code, is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned using a smartphone or a dedicated QR reader, directing users to specific information or webpages quickly. Typically consisting of a pattern of black squares on a white background, QR codes can store URLs, contact information, or even payment links. They are widely used in various contexts, such as marketing materials, product packaging, and event tickets, offering a convenient way for users to access digital content or services without the need for manual input. QR codes are particularly beneficial when an immediate response is desired, such as during promotional campaigns or in situations where quick access to information enhances the user experience.

Creating a QR Code for Your Webpage

Whilst in Edit Mode of your Squarespace website, access the pages menu and locate the page you wish to create a QR code for and hover your mouse over it. When hovering over the target page, click on the cog icon to access the Page Settings window.

The black Page Settings cog icon only appears whilst hovering over a page in the Pages menu.

Once the Page Settings window appears, you should see in the General settings that there is a toggle for QR Code. Simply click on the toggle to instantly generate your QR code for that specific page.

You’ll see the QR code appear, and then all you need to do is hover over the QR code and click to download it to your device so you can use it elsewhere. It's as easy as that!

Repeat this process for any pages for which you need QR codes.

QR codes have always been easy to generate, there are plenty of free QR generator websites out there, Squarespace has brought this task in-house, making it super quick, easy and efficient to use - a fantastic addition!
